So, I've been working to get in shape for a few months now but a few weeks ago my boyfriend said he was ready to get in shape and that he wanted to do Insanity. We started on Monday August 27th, so we are on day 18 now, almost done with week 3.
The first 4 weeks are comprised of 6 different workouts that alternate. The 1st and 15th days are the Fit Test: a 30 min workout that requires you to do 8 exercises for a minute each and count how many you can do. The three main workouts are the Plyometric Cardio Circuit, Cardio Power and Resistance, and Pure Cardio, which is definitely the hardest of all three. Starting in week two Cardio Abs is added to the Pure Cardio day. Every Thursday is Cardio recovery, which is still intense but less so.
A great review of each workout can be found here http://blog.extremefitnessresults.com/product-reviews/insanity-workout-reviews/insanity-workout-reviews-2/
Almost 3 weeks in an I am definitely seeing results. Not so much in weight loss as I had hoped, but my cardio is VASTLY improved. I think I can increase my weight loss by adjusting my eating habits. I follow the www.toneitupdiet.com but haven't been as diligent as I should be, which I am changing now hoping to see better results.
For any other Tone It Uppers out there, Insanity is a great way to get in your daily HIIT routines - they are max intervals, meaning much less time resting than normal HIIT. It's 2-3 minutes exercise, 30 sec break, and then back to the exercise. It's an incredible workout and my endurance gets better everyday. Each workout has stretching too, which has given me vast improvement in my flexibility.
All in all, I highly recommend Insanity and will post my before and after results when it's done =D
Looking forward to results and as much as I would love to do Insanity I don't think it'll be good for my knee.
ReplyDeleteI definitely wouldn't recommend it if you have knee problems :(
