Move It Monday!

Sometimes Moving It requires recovery, so stretching is important too! If any of you are new runners like me, your legs are probably pretty sore a lot.  Though I want to get up and run, sometimes the soreness really works against me.  I found some great hamstring and calf stretches that have me up and ready to run the next day!  I don't do them immediately after my run - I do light stretching after my runs.  I do these deeper stretches at night before I go to bed.  I find I wake up feeling great and ready to run!

I found that the Standing Hamstring Stretch and the Advanced Standing Hamstring Stretch really gave me a great relieving stretch and made it a lot easier for me to Rise and Run the next morning =D

Calf Muscle stretches: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-241-287--8969-0,00.html
3 simple progressive stretches to hit every area of your calves.

These are all static, recovery stretches - you should not be "bouncing" while doing them.  Go as deep as you can and hold it for as close to 30 seconds as you can in the same spot.

If you are having trouble with leg soreness (from running or working out in general) I hope this helps you get back on your feet! =D
